When DW busted ours with just 2000 miles on the clock it was only $200 OEM from Ford. I have a buddy that does body work for a Chevy dealership order & do the install for me since I have done computer work for him.
He couldn't believe the difference in cost between OEM Ford & GM towing mirrors. He figured I had only priced out the replacement glass.
There are definately cheaper options online but with his body shop discount & no shipping charges we got the Ford one.

I had to replace the lower mirror on the driver's side of my '06 Silverado as the garage door opening shrunk overnight! 
I bought the replacement lower mirror at the Chevy dealer for just over $40. It comes in a replacement kit and is an easy DIY.

Did the same on my 2005 2500HD with the turn signal and electric extend/retract. Cheapest new I found was on Ebay for $300.00. Dealer was double that. I did google the internet to get lesson on removing inside door panel before replacing the mirror. Can't tell it's been replaced and I also am more carefull backing into the garage
