After full timing 3 years in a 5er and F450 - bought a little house near the grandkids, remodeled it and set it up as base. Now we have bought this motorhome and am looking forwarding to updating it and hitting the road late spring. Anyone have any mods of a similar model. Sure would like to see them. Have been hitting the forums and have so many good ideas from such great people but has anyone updated this year and model?

I did a lot to my 36T. I put a entertainment center outside with big TV and fridge, both would pull out. I built a custom desk behind the passenger seat that someone could sit at and a second person could swing the passenger seat around and also have use of the desk at the same time. I put a washer/dry in it. Marble floor in the bathroom. Hardwood floors in the bedroom and living area. Its amazing how much you can do!

Hi All.

First off, "Welcome to the Fourm" The only thing that limits you to making Mods, is yourself. There are just endless things one can do to any RV, Period. I have done an awful lot of Mods to every RV we have ever owned in the past 45 yerars as RV'ers. We bought our Motorhome with very low miliage, 12,061 miles on it for a "Once in a Lifetime Buy" We did a complete "Inside Make-Over". WOW, what a huge differance it makes. And between the "Cost of the Motorhome" and the "Inside Make-Over, we still don't have all thatmuch money invested in or Motorhome. It really helps out if you can do everything yourself, as Labor is what kills a big project. We wanted our Motorhome to look the way we wanted it to look. We really liked the floor plan, but wasn't very pleased with the Colors, or some of the Furniture. now it is the way we wanted it to look. As I said, we have been RV'ers for a little over 45 years now, and we still have a few more good years left in us. This is our very last RV, Period. This one will last use the rest of or RV'ing and Traveling Days. We also enjoy the best of both worlds. As we are not Full-Timmers and will not be. We have a Beautiful Motorhome and a Beautiful Home, on the 4th Fairway on the Golf Coarse, in a very small town of only 18,000 people, and it can't ever get any biggger, as we live on top of a Butte, so there is no where else to build on. So we to have a home base, and Travel as we please. Sounds like hyou have a good plan. By doing it our way, we saved a huge amount of money on our Motorhome, which will pay for a lot of Fuel for a lot time. Good Luck. Happy Travels. Dan & Jill

Welcome a 98 36T was my first MH as well and a GREAT one at that. By far the best dash as unit to date and have had two new high dollar rigs since. GREAT fuel mileage and pulled any toy or hill I ever needed it to. No mods come to mind but a couple of things to look at do. Check your radiator for oil or gunk build up they will collect dirt and grime, look at it from under the bed and the ground. If it hasnt had a longer slobber hose (crankcase breather)added to it put one on it.
Next be sure to check your tire dates, I had an old one blow and it took off the whole fender wiring and all.
Also check the shower floor pan they are kinda weakly supported, mine had a small leak around the shower drain grill.
Otherwise enjoy, it's a great rig! What part of Tx are ya Im in east Tx?

Thanks everyone for all your input. Sorry I have not responded but have been down with the crud(respiratory). We have painted the rig - all the walls and it looks so much better! We caulked and checked the shower floor pan- hopefully we won't have any leaks.

Hello. We have a 97. We're also interested in updating the interior. I'd like to start by replacing the lamps and the old overhead tv.
Any ideas on where to find new lamps?
We'll be replacing the tv with an LCD of course, but what are your ideas on covering the old tv's cabinet?

Other simple things to remodel for a "newer" look?

Thx! Can't wait to start.

Just a thought for you, so your not just limited to RV lamps. You can, re-wire and add different sockets to most any Household Lamps also, and convert them to 12 Volt Lamps and ues LED Bulbs in them. Try to think out-side of the so called Box. Its not as hard as most people think it is to do an "Inside Make-Over, and not break the bank doing it. We did ours and really like the end results. Looks like a whole diffferent Motorhome now. We replaced all of the OEM Window Treatments, what a waste of useable space. Some of the OEM Furinture we keep and refinished and recovered, and some we just flat out didn't like and replaced some. Like a Beautiful Set of Over-Stuffed Swivel Backed Rocking Chairs. Originally a little over $1700 dollars with tax, we got the pair for $650 out the door, and they delivered them, and even put them into the Motorhome for use as part of the deal we made. Also replaced the two OEM TV's, one Over-Head up front and one in the Bedroom, with very low power usage, becasue we wanted the lowest drain possible TV's as we do mostly Boondocking. Go For it. The more you can do yourself, the cheaper it will be. Being a Handy-Person does really help to keep the costs down. Good Luck. Happy Travels. Dan & Jill
