I was wondering if anyone were able to use their AARP cards for discounts at any campgrounds private or State? Thanks for your help.

Sure........

Depends on CG but many will give 10% discount off daily rate for AARP/AAA/Good SAM/paying with cash etc.
Always ask for a discount.....I've gotten a discount just for asking, no cards, no affiliates, no nothing...just because I asked.

And that goes for regular stores also.

Many private campgrounds offer senior discount without even showing your AARP card. In fact, I can't even remember ever showing my AARP card anywhere when getting a senior discount, campgrounds, hotels, motels, restaurants, movies, etc. I just ask if they have a senior discount and most do.

It's not hard to get a minimal 10% discount on camping without joining ANY club. Now if you already belong for OTHER reasons why not take the discount but to join for that small an amount is suspect for the average user. Can't double up and get 10% for AAA AND 10% for something else.

I remember asking "do you have room for another". The CG looked empty. The lady assured me she had room. I asked How much? She told me and I thought it was way too high. I stood there a minute. She asked me "Is the boss coming in" and I assured her the 'boss had come in'.

She asked about the boss again and I left and found a NICE state park (Colorado-just N of Denver 20 mi) for about $25 less than she wanted.

CO has some nice CGs. If a resident sr citizen, they are cheap Sun-Thurs.

We ask for AARP or AAA discount everytime we camp. Campground usually ask for AAA card, usually get 10% discout with that. Like NP campgrounds better.
