Bacon wrapped tater tots

Bacon - do not use thick bacon
tater tots defrosted

cut bacon to fit around tots
wrap and secure with toothpick
Bake at 450 until bacon is cooked through

I used a 3 lb package of bacon and it was enough for 1/2 of a large package of tater tots.

I drain the bacon grease halfway through to make sure they are not boiling in it.

I made these as an appetizer for a camping trip and then was asked the next morning for more with breakfast.

Wow, you have hit there. DW said we are going to do that for our next get together where we need to bring an appetizer. Maybe a little barbeque sauce to dip.

That sounds tasty!

My Jewish friend wraps bacon around chicken livers. And although it sounds a bit wierd it is actually great tasting. I forgot what they call them but they do have a name for them!

They're called by any number of names: basura, détritus, Abfall, etc.

Huh?!? Must be Jewish by ethnic heritage, not religion.

Bacon wrapped around Lil Smokies, whole water chestnuts..... Anything wrapped with bacon is good. Shake a Lil Smokie in a bag of brown sugar and then wrap it in bacon, unbelieveable!

That non-kosher Jewish delicacy is called rumaki. Not sure how Jews got hold of it, but I've had it at several Jewish gatherings. Maybe we tried to relate it to another Jewish dish, chopped liver. If you look it up, you'll find the origin of it.

Those all sound tasty. Of course, I can hear my arteries slamming shut as I think about it.

Retired and visiting as much of this beautiful country as I can.
