We are looking to go to Brown County this summer. It has been a few years since our last visit and we now have the trailer in our signautre rather than the pop-up we previously had. We are looking for campsite suggestions with some shade that will accomodate our 31' trailer. Did a search and found a few suggestions but most of the campsites were in the sun. We also want to make sure we will be able to reasonably put the trailer in the site! We went to Versailles State Park a few years ago after we had just purchased the trailer, went online to pick a site that would fit our trailer and booked it. It was so heavly wooded, even with help from numerous people when we arrived, it took us 45 minutes to back it in and another 45 minutes when we left-very tight!

Thank you.

Hi we stayed at Brown county SP last year with a 25 foot TT. We stayed in the back I believe it was site 330. It was in taylor ridge in the very back. There are quite few sites that are tight even for mine how ever the front area had alot of room and we saw alot of 5th wheels and big motorhomes. It also was the most non shady area. I also went to rvparkreviews.com and got some good info there. Hope this helps if I can find the site I was on I'll let you know.

Can't help with campsite recommendations in the state park as I believe we were in the sun when we were there, but I do know that a lot of the sites at Bill Monroe's Bean Blossom cg had a lot of shade when we stayed there. It is just up the road a short distance.

The Last Resort has several nice shaded sites on the west side of the park. Those are also the sites with cable hook up. They have a nice pool too.

We have stayed at Last Resort several times. Don't remember there being much shade, but we really like this cg.

If you had trouble with Versailles, you will really suffer with Brown County. It has twice the trees as Versailles. Sorry I can't help with a particular site. I know some sites can be really difficult. Thats why during the off season we like to visit different parks for hiking and we pick out good sites for future reference.

I did walk through Versailles last Saturday and they were cutting a lot of trees and had many more marked to cut. I don't know if they are dead or infected with the Emerald Ash borer.

I agree with camperforlife. Brown County is more difficult to maneauver than Versailles. We love both parks but their are very few perfect sites for a 30ft plus camper. Ours is 35 foot and we will only camp at the Buffalo Ridge sights. I think the last time we stayed there it was on site 50 or 51. It had a big tree next to it. Clifty Fall is very nice campground too and it easier to get around in.

Only familiar with the front section of Brown Co. SP (Buffalo Ridge) as the back sections are too wooded for our liking. There are plenty of sites at Buffalo Ridge to accommodate your length. Some we like are 48, 49, 50, 51 and 52. They are all angled, back in sites and should not be difficult to get into. Most provide at least partial shade until late afternoon. Couple other favorites are 36, and 37 which have good shade. Farther back in Buffalo Ridge (sites 75 through 82 are again angled, back in sites and have plenty of shade.
