Hi all. I have a Black & Decker All-In-One Pro B2200 breadmaker. The recipe book is useless. Also, the breadmaker doesn't have the usual 15 minute preheat time & it has a basic bake time of 3 hours, not 3:50. I've tried adapting recipes from other books but they don't turn out right because of the difference in cook time. Has anyone found a recipe book that works for this machine? Thanks.

I bought a new B&D breadmaker - can't remember the model, but I never
use it to cook in. I always use the dough cycle (9) and it takes
about l l/2hrs, I form the loaf into bread pan, french loaf or rolls
and it's great.
My recipe for white is:
l l/4 c warm water
3 l/3 cups white flour
l l/2 t salt
2 T sugar (or splenda)
2 T butter/margarine or oil (I use butter)
l l/2 t yeast
Makes a large loaf or 2 small or l6 rolls (bread pan).
Takes about l l/2 to 2 hrs to raise and then bake at 350 for
25 minutes. 20 minutes for rolls.

I never bake the bread in my breadmaker and always use the dough cycle. I think it tends to get dry, plus I hate the shape of the loaf. When the motor dies the heating element will still be new.
I love whole wheat and rye breads but it always seemed so compact when I made it. Several recipes in the recipe book that came with my machine called for vital gluten but always said it was optional. After some research, I finally decided to try some. I am totally amazed at the difference that it makes in whole wheat and rye products. It's so light and fluffy plus it seems moister. You use apx one to one and a half tsp per cup of whole wheat or rye flour. I always use bread flour too. This weekend I'm going to try marble rye bread in hopes that I can perfect it before we need it for Rueben's on St. Paddy's Day!
