Monroes is known for hotdogs. They also have an outstanding hamburger steak. Also, if you have never been there, be forewarned Plains is a VERY small town. The Museum at the school will only take an hour at the most. The farmhouse will not take much longer either, unless there are special events happening. Last time I was there, Jimmy was there speaking to a tour group of Fed Interns. went through there earlier today.. Monroes and Habitat's HQ are about 1/2 mile from train station.. Global Village is across street from station.. In Plains, Museum at HS is between 1/2 and 3/4 mile from station. Mom's Kitchen is about 1/2 mile from station. Time to start thinking of our next outing at Georgia Veterans SP in South Georgia. Hoping the weather will be as kind to the group. The food theme for saturday will be Cajun/Creole(a delayed Marde Gras.) Watch for future postings.
