I have read a few threads here regarding the 10-year rule. Where your rig must be newer than 10-years old in order to stay at a particular RV park. Questions are asked about how we feel about it, or if we would stay or not.
But I was wondering if any of the members here have actually been turned away. And if so, why.

The only time I've ever been turned away was when the campground was full. The last time that happened they gave us two 50% discount coupons, one for a stay at that campground at a later date, and one for a "sister" campground a few miles away, where we did stay at that time.

Never been turned away from any camp ground or park unless it was full and that's very seldom in over 34 years of RVing. We have never went or wanted to go to a Resort!

I have been refused resevations at a park in Portland OR.

Got turned away at park in CA cause dog was too big....only ankle biters allowed.
Does that count?

I'm thinking that as long as your trailer looks nice and modern, that they won't even ask. I've never been asked.

I once made a 4 month reservation at an unseen park on the opposite coast figuring it'd be OK because they require a background check AND a signed contract with 7 pages of terms and conditions before accepting the reservation. Figured we couldn't go wrong....
WRONG
The reason the NEW park owners required the above was that the only "RVs" in the place were AT LEAST 20 years old, rusted, flat tires here and there, old washing machines, bald tires, and the like piled everywhere. The NEW owner said he didn't blame us for cancelling - trying to rid the park of all the ....well, I would type the words but the moderators wouldn't allow them.

I've never been turned away but one time in northern Washington, While signing up this guy pulled in in an old class A that was covered with moss, looked like it had been sitting for a while, he didn't look much better. 125 spaces in the park and only about 10 guests, Guess what? "Sorry we are booked up"

We got turned away once near Lake Mead area, we had a brand new Silver Fox TC and very nice looking Ram 3500 but were told that TC's were not permitted. I had spoken to them before we got there so was angry that they had not told me this before we got there.

Nope,...never. And, IMO as long as I maintain the exterior of my MH (clean & shiny) it can pass for a 8 year-old,....for many more years. IMO they won't even ask, therefore I don't have to lie about it.
