WRONG ... the plan for Ford Employees and family members is not the X-Plan, but the A-Plan. The A-Plan is the dealer invoice and the X-plan is dealer invoice plus a fixed 4%.
It's amazing that some folks feel the need to post bum information on something they obviously know little about.
Yes, it is...which is kind of ironic since your post is incorrect. The actual formula is
Dealer Invoice - (0.4% * Dealer Invoice) + Administrative Fee ($275 last I saw, but may have gone up)
Feel free to look it up from the source:
X-Plan Pricing
Then you failed to read my second post where I gave the link that mentioned an administration fee. My first post was just the basic information on the difference between the A and X plan. In fact the link in my second post doesn't mention that rebates and incentives also apply to the X-plan at least when I used it back in 2001.
Larry
The point was your formula is completely wrong...it's invoice -.4%, NOT invoice + 4%. Quite a difference. And yes, I saw your second post, which failed to correct the first.

Just used X-plan to buy my 2012 F-350. 2nd time I have bought with X-plan, and I have bought 2 with GM Supplier discount too. X-plan limits the doc fees to $100 I thought. Didn't pay, but I think I saw that.

Do you know someone who works for Ford? Anyone even retired employees? Ford employees are given about 5 X plan #'s they can hand off each year.
Any Ford I've bought new has been with X Plan pricing + all applicable discounts. This also applies to custom factory orders as well NOT just vehicles in inventory. No haggle pricing, no surprise "fees", very straight forward purchase.
That might be true for the X plan, not sure, but the A/Z plan is only for direct family members of the employee/retiree and they must keep it in their name for a min of 6 months.

Blackdiamond, you are right about the six months. I am retired Ford. Ford does allow us to give out X plan pin numbers to friends and neighbors. The direct family is for the Z plan which is a bigger savings over the X plan.

So much misinformation floating around here...
As recently as 10 years ago, X-plan used to be A-plan plus 4% plus $125. Not even close to that any more.
For starters to clarify:
A-plan is Ford Employee pricing (immediate family members are included).
Z-plan is retiree or surviving spouse (and their immediate family members) and is the same pricing as A-plan.
X-plan is for friends and neighbors of employees and for corporate partners' employees.
Copied and pasted right from the AXZ.ford.com web site (where I would sign up for a PIN)
Quote: Pricing Formula
The AZ-Plan price is the amount shown on the line labeled appropriately near the bottom of the factory invoice. The New Vehicle Purchase Program price includes advertising, finance costs, transportation, and Company Administration Fee.
AZ-Plan
Dealer Invoice - Holdback - Advertising Assessment + Administration Fee*
X-Plan is a pre-determined price based on dealer invoice or A-Plan price depending on brand. The X-Plan price is noted on the dealer invoice.
X-Plan
Ford
Dealer Invoice - (0.4% * Dealer Invoice) + Administration Fee* (see sample invoice)
Lincoln
Dealer Invoice + (0.6% * Dealer Invoice) + Administration Fee* (see sample invoice)
*$275 Administration Fee.
Back when X-plan was A-plan + 4%, it would have been hard for a non-employee (or their family members) to get a better deal. It's entirely possible to haggle a better deal than X-plan these days, and I know some people that have done it rather than use a PIN.
WillRobinson, if you can't wait for DKean to get you a PIN and want to get something before the end of the year, PM me. I still have five x-plan PINs available before the end of the year.

Here is a kick in the pants. Got everything ready to go and so far, I have two salesmen who don't seem to take me seriously. One guy is trying to sell me a truck I don't want and the other keeps telling me about the great deals on an F-150. I guess I don't fit their truck buying demographic! I am not in a hurry, when someone steps up to the plate with what I want or make some effort to find or order what I want without me having to beg them, then they get the sale.
