Unless it is a real stinker I have to watch every movie at least three times before I pass judgement upon it. First time for story and overall impact. Second time for acting and dialog. Third time for cinematography, special effects, sound, etc. By that time I m starting get dialog down. Drive 'she who must be obeyed' crazy. Then on my favorite ones she is even memorizing dialog. A partial list includes:

Casablanca (off course)
Play It Again Sam (Usually a double feature w/ above)

God Fathers 1 & 2
Goodfellows

Forrest Gump

Full Metal Jacket ("What is your major malfunction...")

Pulp Fiction ("Don't you just love it when you come back the food has arrived)
Saturday Night Fever
Face Off

The whole Matrix trilogy
The Bourne trilogy

The list goes on and on. Haven't even gotten to this years movies.

Anything with Fred Astaire or Gene Kelly! Old musicals in general. Some of my favorites are: Singin' in the Rain, An American in Paris, Top Hat, and Swing Time.

  • Any of the Back to the Future movies
  • Shawshank Redemption
  • Adventures in Babysitting
  • The Breakfast Club
  • Big Trouble in Little China

The last one gets me banished to the small TV. My wife can't figure out why I like it so much.

We love old movies from the 40's and early 50's. There are a few "newer" ones we watch over and over like Lilies of the Field and Fiddler on the Roof.

Still having fun!
