Just got new progressive-lens bifocal glasses...and, man o man, are these things TREMENDOUS!!! I have absolutely horrible vision...in fact, without correction, probably could get disability as blind...had bifocals with lines as a kid, but since then have always had single-prescription lenses....distance only...lately, it's gotten so bad that I've had to take the glasses off entirely to, for example, read the newspaper...and then it's held really close up so I can see
Just yesterday evening picked up a new pair of glasses...these have the progressive bifocal lenses (two different prescriptions in one lens, with no visible line between the 'distance' part and the 'reading' part)....will take some getting used to, but they seem to be the solution i've been looking for!

You will get used to them. I've had mine for several years now and the hardest part part were stairs/steps. They seemed to change the distance, but fortunately it did not take long.
Is is sure nice to be able to see distances and read clearly without changing glasses.

Your vision ain't that bad if you are only into bifocals.
Wait until you have to get trifocals and then find a lens style that is big enough to split into 3rds.

Went from no corrective lenses to the trifocal progressive. Didn't know I had a problem until I went for a DL renewal and almost failed the vision test. Kind of prompted me to get along and get the peepers checked. Best thing since sliced bread. The curve time was literally hours. The pro suggested that the tri's might impair the peripheral vision however I sure don't SEE that problem. Now if someone could just solve the problem with them getting dirty all would be fine.

I got trifocal progressives and it took a long time to get used to them. I love them to drive but I still use reading glasses to read with.

I LOVE my progressives. Tried the bifocals once and they were a PITA for me. I couldn't get used to them. The progressives I took to like a fish to water. Wonderful inventions.

I've had bifocal progressive lenses for years. I found out that I need an extra pair of distance only lenses for golf.

I got the progressive bifocals several months ago. Previously had the lined ones, but couldn't read the computer screen through either one. With the progressives, and a similar prescription, I'm able to see the screen, and also distance and close up very clearly. I'm sold!

I have progressive with high index lenses and anti-reflective coating. Still see double at night when looking at the reflective markers on the side of the roads, even with brand new prescription.
