US-287N to Amarillo, short stretch on I-40 to a bypass around Amarillo. (It may be called 287 North Bypass, or some such.)
US-287N again,to US-87N at Dumas, TX.
US-87N to I-25N to Denver.

This is a fairly short and southern route. Only really big city is Fort Worth, and I have never had any problems there.
Of course, anything can happen weatherwise on the the plains.
