Low Key ( as mentioned above ) is a rustic place... we like it there. Stop at Tony's for his world famous clam chowder- 3x winner.
Another place to consider is Turtle Beach CG on Siesta Key near Sarasota. It's right on the beach. It's now run by the county.

i have been to W.P. Franklin in 2010 and twice in 2011. The sites are great and immaculate. It can't be beat for price and R&R but like the previous poster said, book in advance. The downside are two attendants there that are rude and not well mannered.
