I am doing some preliminary planning for a major trip in the near future. I would like to spend approx. a week each at three nice RV parks either on or very near the FLA West Coast. This travel would occur in the month of June.

One in the panhandle. We used to live in Atlanta and made a few trips to Panama City Beach many many years ago in our little trailer. I'm sure things have changed but is there something to consider there. I am amazed at how many times the Topsail site shows on this forum-should I consider that?

Is there a nice park somewhere in St Pete/Tampa area?

And finally, I would like to spend some time down around the Fort Meyer area.

I will not be going to the Keys and am not interested in East Coast as we have done that in the past. I have a 36" motorhome. I am not looking for cheap but I also am unwilling to pay for upper stratosphere. Thanks in advance for your input.

in Tampa, check Quail Run RV Resort Wesley Chapel, FL. easy drive to Tampa. Not near beaches. About 45 minutes to St Pete. New section very nice but no shade yet. Old section not as nice but lots of shade. On the east side of Tampa, Lazy Days RV Campground Seffner, FL.

In the Ft Meyers area, out on Sanibel Island is Periwinkle Park & Campground. Great for families. No pets.

Its not cheap, its not fancy, but it is on the beach and the sun sets are fantastic. The Red Coconut If you want beach front reserve early.

In the panhandle, I would do Topsail Hill State Park. In St Pete, I would do Ft Desoto, a county park.

X2 for Top Sail Hill and Fort Desoto. Ypu may also want to check-out Rock Crusher Canyon. I've never stayed there, but, have read a lot about it. St joseph State Park is really nice if you like the beach atmosphere, but is kinda remote. Personally, I liked Mexico Beach, and HoHum looked nice, when I drove by it, if you want to be right on the water.

The best beach park in the panhandle is St Andrews SP in PCB IMO.

Just to let you know, I am appreciating the responses since I know nothing of that area. That Red Coconut looks like an ultimate "beach" RV park but the price is ultimate as well.
