I'd be interested to know if having a ROD membership number printed on my Thousand Trails membership card could provide any consideration in getting back into the ROD system without paying hundreds/thousands of dollars? For us, this is quite a setback.
Of course I'd appreciate any suggestions for our RV.vet

Darn, quoted the wrong post.

I'm sorry for not using the full name of ROD on my first post. It's Resorts of Distinction. It was an inexpensive add on to Thousand trails that entitled you to use many many campgrounds with out paying.
I'm told that ROD was the one that pulled out because Thousand Trails was not living up to the "agreement". I don't really know.
I do know that I'll have to now pay thousands of $$ to get it back.

Hi, Tim . . .

When I asked the same question a couple of weeks ago, I got this in response:

Niagara Lazy Lakes has a great package for TT members,
who want to keep ROD as part of your travel package.
Call Tim Swift and company at 1-800-874-2957 and ask
about the TT members package.

I haven't had a chance to call, but plan to in the next week. I did talk to ROD, and they will honor our memberships until the dues expiration date. For us, that's the end of the year.

It may be great if you can afford it. I spoke with Tim. Unfortunately he has to be accountable to other RVers who pay $8,000 for to use that home park.
The TT package is indeed less than but it is still almost $3000 with limited usage instead of unlimited. To be fair, they also waive the yearly dues.
It seems to me that if ROD terminated the partnership with TT. ROD, the organization, not the individual parks should offer a special deal for those TT members who are left hi and dry.
For us, loosing ROD is quite a blow.
Why not permit those effected, pay the ROD dues to Lazy Lake, for example, without any usage priviledges at that park??
I didn't think of that when talking to Tim at Lazy Lakes.

kinda weird... i just found out our membership campground in Mich, which has ROD affiliation, is now not C2C anymore. Im in same boat. to get back my C2C membership, i need to buy into another deluxe resort park on C2C list...I didnt upgrade to ROD(another $3000) later when they came onboard.

totally sucks. C2C was main reason to buy into this campground and after 7 yrs its gone and now im stuck paying dues to a resort i have used 1x. Worse thing is I dont even like the campground anymore. improvements promised when purchased never materialized( go figure)...... we use C2C Deluxe for condo and vacation getaways mostly. once and a while for old truck camper(alot places wont even let us in) since we sold our trailer 4 yrs ago.

at least the membership is pd for and my dues are $250 a yr. It was a lifetime membership(b4 i knew better).... Id just give it to someone who would use it if they took over the membership dues.

will never buy into another campground........just flushed $5000

well at least i have a couple sister parks that i can use...big friggin deal. they are nowhere i need to see again.

Ya , it all seems the affilation comes and goes. Gettysburg wanted me to upgrade to Rod for 4200$ no way, the Manager said they will still honor cc.Only time will tell, if they drop cc, i will get rid of gettysburg and buy into Bricliff in myrtle beach for 2000. One of the best cc parks in the system.
