We ditched the lumpy front mattress on our 21SS last season and use an air mattress instead. Makes setting up and breaking down so much easier. DD finally relented and asked to have an air mattress back in the 'cave'.
The 21ss has 4 sets of snaps, two on the 'top'edge and one each on the ends. The end straps wrap over the arch pole and then snaps in. Our snaps don't hold very well.

The ridge ("shepherd's") pole fits nicely between the folds, however.

Thanks for the photos. Great help. I notice you undo all velco and tuck everything atop the mattress. However in rainy conditions (which is quite frequent here in the NorthWest - especially this summer) the mattress would be absorbing all the water. Your Thoughts

if that is the conditions you have, then take the mattress out and lay it inside. then close up the bunk door.
the top of my mattress are more water repellent than the bottom. so i don't worry about the edges getting a little damp. they dry quickly.

I fold the tentage back on itself to keep residual rain and leaves off the mattress. A fitted flannel sheet serves as a nice mattress cover.
Setup consists of: drop the door and pull the tentage out in maybe 1 second. Everything stays dry. I do all the snaps and bungees before the ridge pole.
Trust me, we're experts at rainy camping on the North Coast! The folding is also restricted by the cables that support the bed.

The Bunk ends can be folder up without unsnapping everything. Just be careful that everything is inside and your not pinching the canvas when closing.

Which hybrid? No leaks? Can you post a photo of the beds closed with the tentage all hanging out?
(The majority of your posts and interest seems to be in the Pets section.)

I would prefer not to Hy-Jack the OP Thread, but maybe this can help someone else.
We have a 2009 Travel Star by Starcraft. I do not have snaps on my bunk ends to snap the Mattress, just a strap inside of the camper. So can't help there.
In response to Chuck S when we close up we do not unsnap the ends of canvas, just lift up the canvas flaps and push everything towards the middle as you did. When closing the end, check and Double check that everything is inside.
As long as everything's in, no there will not be leakage, mattress stays dry cause the wet and leafs are on the outside of canvas and not falling on mattress, because it is not unsnapped.
So in fairness I do not have a Rock wood Roo, do not know if leaving it snapped is a problem or not. Just giving my opinion on what I know about my camper.

The video that you are referring to is by RV Wholesalers. It is a walkthrough of a Roo 23SS, but would apply to any of the Roos. Here is the link.
