1999 Wilderness 28' has thetford pedal flush toilet- sri, I did not get model number yet. We just finished camping today, drained, flushed tank, I had just added the chemical to the toilet and stepped to flush- thought I heard a "snap". water would not flush- flapper not opening.
Upon inspection the lever to flush cable snapped about an inch from the foot pedal- the other cable to fill the bowl is still intact.
I see that the kits are about $35.00... is this an easy fix?.. Something one could do them self ??? I'm really not looking forward to having to pull the entire toilet... if so is it better to replace the entire toilet? Can't really find much info on how to replace the cable online.
Thank you!

you can fix it yourself but now would be a good time to upgarde to a new model that has a porcelien bowl and the newer ones are easier to work one. a real good one I bought last year was the domectec 310.

Yeah I just pulled out that POS Thetford aqua IV and replaced it with a sealand domestic 310 china. How nice. really smooth. I will only ever have a Thetford product that I am forced to have by the unit I own. Next POS is the Norcold N811. God I will probably sell the unit before I get rid of this loser.

It was a struggle but I made it to 18 below. Only broke the water filter in the storage area.
