I am working on a private purchase of a 2007 Fun Finder X 189FBR. The camper looks perfect. I was reading on here that roofs are too flat on these models and can lead to leaks around the AC? Is this a known, major issue or a random problem on a few here and there?
I am getting a good price, but I want to make sure this camper isn't a walking (or rolling) nightmare/money pit.
Thanks a lot.

Flat is flat and most roofs are. If by "too flat" you mean they are sunken in the middle where the A/C is, then that could be a problem but I haven't read any posts about that.
Even with the flat roof, anything well sealed shouldn't leak but if it had I think there would probably be signs (stains) on the interior ceiling.
Also, the rig is usually parked on a bit of a slant to allow water to drain off the roof.
A 2007 rig is old enough to show obvious signs of water leakage - you just have to do a thorough inspection. From what I've heard/read/seen, the Funfinders are popular units.

As well as checking for water stains, feel and push against all walls, floors, and ceilings for soft spots, which usually indicate water damage. Don't forget to check closets and outside storage areas, inside of cabinets, closets, etc. Have the roof checked for broken seals, which will let water in.
I hope this camper checks out, and if so, have LOTS of fun with it!

Look for water damage, this can be soft spots in the floor, ceiling and walls, on interior walls when wet the luan wood fibers will try to stand up and this will make a bumpy rough spot on the vinyl wall & ceiling covering. Any change of the floor covering, new carpet, linolium, is a red flag!
Delamination is a show stopper! Walk away!
On the exterior look for water damage, this will be a delaminated filon (fiberglass) skin, look very closely and make sure there is no lumps soft spots or lifting of the skin, check along the roof to side walls, and around any openings, (clearance lights, tail lights, door handles etc, etc,)

The early 2007 Fun Finders had Quality control problems. The model year started around 1 july 2006,so it could be almost5, years old.Mine was made 31 july 2006. It had small problems that seemed to nickle and dime me.Also the dealer went broke a year after I bought it.Saying that, the roof has never leaked. After a severe thunder storm last summer I went and checked on it and there was water standing near the AC unit.I lowered the tounge jack and it ran off.All thr expensive stuff works fine, however fit around the wheel wells was a problem and I had to seal openings.
I tow with F150 no wd hitch.Just make sure truck and trailer are level. If after 5 years there is no damage u should be ok.Make sure u check under the dinett area for cracks.FF are good little trailers if u check them out good.'
The TV and cd and outside speakers are junk.

^^ what he said... Watch out for 2007's. Just make sure you do a thorough inspection. you will be able to tell if there's a problem (or potential problem).
I have heard of the front window area leaking (on older ones), so make sure you check it closely.

I had a 2005 189FBR (first TT). The only problem I had was the linoleum floor buckled during the first winter. Well we do get real cold up here in Wisconsin. The buckle was at a seam of the sub floors.
Other than that a great little trailer. The gaucho gave you so much room in the galley area. I needed more bathroom area so I traded up.

I can tell you that our 2003 T-139 has been a champ -- it takes an amazing beating and gives us no trouble. I don't know if the same rugged quality carried over to succeeding model years.

What material is the roof? I was up there, but I don't know much about campers. It didn't appear to be rubber, so what is it?
Thanks.
