I am looking for a basic cell service only and am considering Consumer Cellular as the plans are much less expensive that others. Does anyone us them and can you tell me if the service works in most places? They do show a large coverage map on the web site. I am not interested in the buy service card plans the stores sell. Really like to hear from people using them.

do you know which service they piggyback on...verizon, sprint, etc? if it's verizon then your service will be very good.

The trouble with being punctual is that nobody’s there to appreciate it.

They use AT&T as their carrier. I found this review.

I don't use it myself, but have some RV friends that do use it and are very pleased with the service.

I use Consumer Cellular and am very happy with them. We don't text or use the phones for internet access-just plain old phone service. They use the AT&T network. I've never had a problem of any kind.

Hi,

We have used Consumer Celluar service for 10 years. We can get a signal anywhere that AT&T service is available. We get a stronger signal near the interstates. That could be because our phone is 10 years old. I called and asked if they offer existing customers a new phone, I was told no, and if you purchase one of their new phones there is a $35.00 activation fee charged. They have several different plans available all without contracts. They're plans have few bells and whistle available but recently I saw they added texting. We switch back and forth depending on if we will be traveling. No cost to change plans. Consumer Cellular works for us.
