We live in NW Indiana and would love to find a campground that's not too far that has good fishing (in southern MI, WI or northern IN. We do not own our boat, but could either rent if it is available or just bank fish. Any good ideas? Thanks.
Good fishing in Turner Lake with two fishing piers so you won't need a boat.

Coldwater, MI has Waffle Farms on a chain of lakes. Sterling State Park in Monroe, MI on Lake Erie has a couple of nice fishing areas from the bank. Allegan,MI at the fair grounds you can camp right down along the river.
Upper Michigan. Just North of land O Lakes WI. Sylvania National Forest.
They have non motorized lakes that have excellent fishing. You can rent a basic boat for just a few dollars.
Just south of Madison WI is a state park "Lake Kegonsa"..This is a GREAT park with isolated camping and a wonderful fishing lake with a fishing pier in the park. The fishing is absolutely outstanding. One of my favorite parks in the midwest, and on of the best kept secrets also.

Depends on what kind of fish you want to catch and if you want to do it from a boat, land, waders in a stream, or from a dock/pier as that will determine where you will want the CG to be near. Michigan has over 11,000 inland lakes with various fish and way over a hundred thousand miles of rivers and streams with various fish. Then add in the 3,200+ miles of Great Lakes shoreline with so many different kinds of fish and take your pick as there are thousands of CG's on or near these geological features. Yes, many of these places are in southern Michigan and not far from NW Indiana. One of the things listed in many of the Michigan Tourist Guide books/pamphlets is that when in any place in the State of Michigan, you cannot be more than 5 miles from a lake, river, or stream. That includes the whole Southern Lower Peninsula too.
Sport fishing species in Michigan:
Several species of salmon, lake trout, whitefish, steelhead, brown trout, brook trout, rainbow trout, large and small mouth bass, rock bass, white bass, bluegill, freshwater perch, walleye, various catfish species, lake herring, menominee, northern pike, musellounge, lake sturgeon, sunfish, dogfish, sheephead, so many more. Actually there are over a hundred species in Michigan listed on DNR sites and they are found in the various type waters which they can thrive in. Some are very big fish while some are pan fish. All are good to excellent eating except the carp etc species or the foreign invasive species like alewife etc.
Sport fishing is very big in Michigan and there are also many many charter fishing fleets for Great Lakes etc fishing. 43 charter fishing large cabined boats in my local small city area alone and they usually book up quite fast in spring, summer, and fall. Also, so many places to rent a boat for a day or so if you don't have your own. We have 39 boat launching ramps with lots of parking I know of in the local area and most can easily handle boats over 30 feet long and most have restrooms at the site too.
