Wanting to weigh my rig and truck. What is the correct process in weighing? I thought of weighing the truck alone, then the truck with the 5ver attached but not on scale and then the complete rig. Is this the correct process or do I need to weigh each axle on truck and trailer in conjunction with my original process. Thanks in advance for the replies. Steve A. Dagro

If you can, weight each axle of the TV without the RV attached. Then hook up the RV to the TV and now weight each axle of the RV and TV individually. You will then have all the info you need to calculate whatever you want.

Steve, I went to the local grain elevator and weighed the whole rig then just the truck with trailer still hooked up then brought the 5er home and went back and weighed the truck. That gave me the weight of each unit. I guess I am not that worried about each axle on the trailer as there is not much I can do to change it. Good Luck and Happy Camping.

Take it to a Flying J truck stop and weigh the truck, Flying J truck scales are set up to weigh each axle but in weighing the tandems on the trailer you will have to weigh them as one axle but thats ok. If you weigh the truck first then weigh the complete rig you will get two weigh slips showing the weights of the trucj only and then the other will show the weights on the truck with load and also the weight on the tandems of the trailer if you get help you could split a scale with the tandems by putting one axle of the tandems on each scale at the seperation of the scales.
