Scott, you could tell us more about the 5th wheel, like what size AC, converter. I have a YAMAHA 2400 and it will run my 13.5 BTU AC

Hi,

Is it a 30 amp or a 50 amp service?

Calculate the electrical load, you plan to put on it at one time. Then size your generator slightly larger. How many hair dryers will be going at one time? AC running at the same time the electric water heater is going? I have a 30 amp on our 5th wheel but could easily use a 50 amp circuit when our adult daughter and our two grandsons are with us. But by running the water heater and fridge on propane, we can get by in the mornings on the 30 Amps or about a 4KW load. Last trip I had to turn the AC off temporarily to keep the breaker from popping. (due to the coffee pot, electric, being used at the same time of the curling iron, hair dryer, TV, etc was in operations.)
The question of generator size is not that much different to "how much horsepower does a person need?"

At least 4000 kw if you want to run everything. I'm assuming run the a/c and the microwave at the same time. You'll probably need more if you have 2 a/c and want to run the microwave at the same time. I previously had a 3000 honda and could run everything but the microwave with one a/c on. I now have a 4000 and can run everything I need (I only have 1 a/c).
