In my RoadTrek 190P, I enjoy stopping at Wal-Marts for the night. I can pick up what I need in the way of food and supplies, and be on my way early the next morning. I know how prevalent Wal-Marts are in the United States, and that most of them allow overnighting, but what about Canada?

Here's a link to the store finder for Walmart Canada.

It's been a while since we were there but I think we overnighted. Good luck

No different, most do but some don't.

What is displayed is mostly correct, I have sent the correct information to Allstays so it will be changed sometime in the future.

In the Maritimes, the two Wal Marts on PEI do not allow RV overnight parking, this is due to the activity of some ignorant RV'ers

In Nova Scotia there is only one WM that does not allow overnight parking and that one is located in downtown Halifax at 6990 Mumford Rd. ( understandable, Halifax downtown parking is at a premium)

The WM at Sault Ste Marie Ontario will allow you to overnight however there is a sign that states there is a municipal by-law which forbids it. The BY-Law also states that the manager of Wal Mart should call and report overnighters but he assured me he would never do that. The rest of the locations on the map for the most part are correct. There are many more Wal Marts than shown on the map.

Cheers
Willey

Thanks for all of the information. WileyB, that's quite a map of WM stores. I feel much better now. I have been to Canada only once, and that was many, many years ago. Am trying to plan another trip there this coming summer. - Larry

You're welcome Larry
Here is a link to what is probably the best and most accurate website of Overnight parking locations in the USA and Canada. Each report is verified by the web master for accuracy.
http://overnightrvparking.com/
It's a paid membership subscription $24.95/year I believe, well worth it if you do a lot of overnight parking.

Signs allowing or disallowing overnighting are all written in "Canadian". Just be warned

Hi,

Only one Walmart in Calgary allows overnighting--the others are part of Mall's and do not own the parking lot.

There is a FREE yahoo group that keeps up to date listings of Walmarts and has files that can be downloaded.

I didn't know that about PEI Walmarts. I see RVs in the Charlottetown store parking lot all the time. Perhaps they are there without permission.

Store # 3162 in Charlottetown, PE and Store# 3644, Summerside, PE.
It happened in August this year, it may be that they are not enforcing it just yet (this I do not know) but the information is correct and has been verified with both stores.

I Would appreciate receiving any current overnight parking information you have on these stores as my interest is mainly in the Maritimes
