Are they legal in Canada, or should I leave it home? I don't want any problems at the border crossing going north from east Glacier. The Border Patrol in Canada will not care if You have a Scanner or Not! Some provinces outlaw radar detectors. Most states in which they are illegal use the caveat "illegal used in the furtherance of a crime". In chatting with some LEOs over the years about radar detectors, I learned that having one in your vehicle pretty much eliminates the chance of getting a warning if you are stopped for speeding or some other infraction. I wonder if getting stopped with a scanner could also lead to some extra attention. Knock on wood, I haven't been stopped in a long time.
