Here is a word that I think started with the ham radio guys who use two meter radios a lot. They talked until they got to where they were going and then told the rest of the world that they are "DESTINATED" and needed to turn the radio off. I always liked that word since it sounded kind of reasonable. SO I am signing off now because I am "destinated."

2oldman, you brought to mind a mistake many newcomers to the Pikes Peak region make. That is inserting the apostrophe in Pikes. While that would ordinarily be correct, it has officially been dropped. I don't know why, but I'd have bet it had something to do with marketing. Wrong. Google says it's the work of the U.S. Board on Geographic Names, formed in 1890. Guess what. It thrives today. Of course, this board's members are much smarter than us lowly taxpayers. Only they could understand why there is Pikes Peak, but Martha's Vineyard!

Good one. Many people talk of working at Boeings, or dry camping at Senators Wash.

Then there are choice local words.

Here in Bermuda one of them is INNA! Translation, "Isn't that right" or "That's right", in aggreement.

That's always bugged me too... what? The $ isn't good enough?!?

That's similar to the silly phrase "extremely unique" as if the word "unique" can't stand on its own. Such words and symbols don't need qualifiers.
