Hi All. I'm a little confused about the concept of using the fresh water pump to boost city water pressure.

If I'm hooked up to city water with low pressure and use the pump to boost it, does it only supplement the pressure with tank water?

What I'm getting at is to I have to have the tank full to do this or will the pump boost city water with an empty tank? We really don't dry camp but I do keep 1/4 tank or so of fresh water for road stops etc.

Of course if need be, I could always fill the tank at the campsite as needed.

The last CG we were at had very low pressure most of the days - 18-20 lbs according to my pressure gauge.

Thanks!

Ray

We filled up the tank and turned on the pump whenever we took a shower or washed dishes and it seemed to help when we had that problem.

We run into low pressure a lot. I try to keep the fresh water tank at least half full so we can use the pump. Sure makes for nice showers.

It's not likely you can boost by using the pump. If the pressure water is lower pressure than the pump puts out it MIGHT raise it but if it's MORE the pump just wont come on.

Our pump would run so it was moving the water from the tank.
