Planning Oct. trip to Chaco Canyon in my Class C during October. Can I travel the corrugated road to the canyon in my RV if it is not rainy and slick? I travel with bicycles but do not tow a car.

It'll depend in good part on how recently the road has been graded and what kind of weather they've had. It is a rough son-of-a-gun. But Chaco is also magnificent.

Check about renting a car or van in nearby Cuba or Farmington. I would not want to run my rig that far down a dusty road even if it had just been graded.

We have been there three times, pulling a tt. The road can be rough, but totally passable as long as it hasn't rained. It is a really nice campground and worth the drive. Spend a few days and enjoy the area.

Go... and go slowly...
I have been going to Chaco for many years and have entered from the south (first time) and most recently (2006) from the East (Nageezi? I think). Some of the prior entries and exits are closed and things seem to change frequently so hopefully some locals will respond to you.
My first visit was in October and it was magical and not crowded in the tiny little campground. The trails are quiet and magnificent. At night - during the dark moon... it is very, very, very, very quiet and black, black, black with a star studded sky. When the moon is full, the desert is illuminated and it is incredible.
This site calls to many... It called me. And it is fragile... so go with a gentle way of being with the artifacts and ruins.
It is a wonderful place to visit... I hope you go.

if you can stand to drive 15 miles at the rate of 10/15 mph, and that's not an exaggeration... you can do it, but it would be a lot smarter to rent a car instead of taking your rig. it's a washboard road almost all the way. it will literally rattle your teeth.

Thanks to all who answered my Chaco road question. If I rent a vehicle in Farmington, is there a safe place to leave the RV and bikes for 2 or 3 days?

I'd leave them in a campground. Rates are about $20 in that area. Campgrounds
