Well said, Bill. You should always install critical updates on both Windows and the browsers you use. I do use Firefox as my primary browser anymore but no matter what I try in Firefox some things required at work only work properly in IE.
I always try to keep an open mind as an IT professional. Right now it will be interesting to see who comes out on top when the latest versions come out of beta - IE9 and Firefox4 - http://www.prlog.org/10803315-the-war-of-firefox-4-and-ie-9-mozilla-firefox-40-follows-behind.html

Just curious as to which email program in Firefox?  If referring to Mozilla Thunderbird(TB), I would handedly disagree. I've been using TB for more than five years, and few if any email client can match it's versatility including Outlook. I use TB to manage all my email accounts including biz domain name, and free email accounts from GMail, AOL, and Yahoo. Using TB's Lightning Calendar and contact extensions, I have all my computers auto. sync/backup with multiple calendars and contacts including with my iPOD Touch using free Google Sync services. I actually use a separate calendar for tasks such as for bills, which overcomes Google's current task sync limitations. This also allows "synced" tasks to be displayed within one calendar itself, in a different color for instance. Google currently will only sync one calendar per account, so you basically open another free GMail account and share that calendar you need synced. You can also sync multiple calendars, tasks, and contacts in one account by using Dropbox to keep TB profiles in sync between different computers. This also backups/syncs your emails automatically. And best of all, these apps and services are free!

Another "yay" vote for FF (and Thunderbird!)... but I also have been using Chrome lately and find it a bit quicker.

Firefox does a good job on how they handle update control. The user selects whether to check for updates of the browser, add-ons and search engines.
Then the user can selectively control what actions to take when an update notification is received.
I turn my off as I update from the nightly tinderbox builds about 4-5 times a week. I enjoy the participation and learning on the Mozillazine board in the Builds forum.

Its just best to know what is happening with your PC.
