Love Firefox! Make sure you get the add-on Addblock plus. It gets rid of those annoying rv.net adds.

Firefox has been our default primary browser for many years now and no plans at this time to switch but have been testing Opera as an alternative.

Don't forget "NoScript" too. Blocks those virus containing scripts.
Not available for IE. of course.

IMO Firefox is the best browser on the market.

Beware. There may be some defaults you may not like from the standard installation such as automatic updates. Sometimes things break when updates occur. The answer is turn off automatic updates.

I (as hershey) was using Mozilla/Netscape back in the '90's when everyone else was using IE 4/5.x. Firefox has made quantum leaps in their development.

Lots of help here. These guys are very knowledgeable and professional.

I recommend these addons:
Tab Mix Plus (TMP)

AdBlock Plus (ABP).

Firefox has been my favorite browser now for many years. It has well over 4,000 addon extensions which makes it the most versatile browser available. I've actually set Chrome as my default OS browser, only because my install of Firefox is setup to prompt for a password at startup, so a minor delay in accessing the web from startup. Chrome is quicker to load when opening an ad link in an email for instance, but I generally have both Firefox and Chrome running simultaneously. BTW, most IE compatibility issues with websites can be addressed by installing an extension in Firefox, which displays IE content in a separate tab, so no need to fire up IE in most cases.

I have used it and think it is pretty good--down far less than AOL was when I used that. It has more features than I can use but the ones I do are excellent.
I find the e-mail program not as sophisticated as AOL's but certainly suitable.

In response to a prior post Turning off auto updates may be fine...... ONLY if you tell it to prompt you when one is available and DO install updates esp "critical' ones!!!!! To not do so ( Windows Updates also) is to leave your computer open to hacks and Virus.Updates arent sent out to cause you pain .. They correct flaws in the program! Moving to a new Version, 6.* to 7.0 may be a good reason not to "update" until you hear good reports but not "fixes" ..7.2 to 7.3
As you can see anyone that knows better has left IE in the dust some time ago, Your late to the party! I have 3 browsers Safari , Firefox and IE on my Windows machine and use them all on occasion .. Firefox being the main one mainly because Add ons are plentiful and make a custom setup. No problem adding several browsers make one the default and you have choices!

My post's are my opinion The advice, comments etc are free and worth what you paid
