Need more power to tow my 16' TH with toys over the mountains ranges. Currently have the F-150 5.4 triton, works ok, but cries up and steep grades which limits me to close to home right now. This will be used as my main vehicle as well.I am not sure about diesel vs gas yet either.
Anyone have any thoughts or opinions?

Everybody else can help you debate the Ford - Dodge choice but I can tell you after owning a diesel I'll never go back to a gasser again. BTW, I've had both makes but I currently have a Dodge 2500.

My F-250 PSD doesn't even feel 8000 pounds over mountains. Cut to the chase and go the diesel route. You won't be limited to go anywhere.

Love my V10-F250. Not enough info on the 6.7. I would buy the Dodge if going diesel. It seems to be what you need for you plans.

Both are good trucks, make sure you get enough motor to do the job

Dodge or GM for your diesel needs.

I would not go back to gas either after owning a few diesel trucks. Both are good trucks. You could get a 3500 or 350 for not much more and be all set for when you upgrade that trailer.

That's what happened to us. Had a 36' Montana. Bought dually and wife decided we needed bigger trailer. So here we are with a Newmar now.

Traditionally I've stayed away from the Fords. My buddies have been plagued with injector issues with them. Although I've had a few with injector issues with Chevys too. My Dodge is problem free so far and obviously a real beast. You can see what I'm pulling. I would not be afraid of the newer 6.7L at all. Cummins has their stuff together.

With that said, I picked up a used 18k PullRite hitch from a guy to replace my 16k, and he had a new Ford Scorpion dually to show off, and it was unreal. He gave me the keys, and I'm not kidding when I say it sounded like an average car. It was unbelievably quiet, and came with brake controller and factory 5th wheel hitch. It was quite the truck.
