Need recommendations for a place to put down our heads in the Denver Colorado Area. The closer to Parker (on the SE side of Denver) the better as that's where our daughter lives. Our son lives in the Centennial area. Sure not having much luck googling the internet.

Thanks for both the Cherry Creek SP and ReserveAmerica leads. Paid off. Got a reservation that covers the bulk of the stay. We can bunk up with the kids before the other guests arrive. It's all good. Thanks a lot.

Perhaps. I'm over in site 33, Buffalo Loop, from the 15th to the 24th. Rates were certainly reasonable. If you see a Lt Almond (golden) Dodge Ram, with Washington plates in the parking spot, drop in and say hey.

Looking forward to seeing you there. I don't know if you realize that what you paid on the reservation covers only the camping. There is a daily fee of $8 for the State Park although, since you are staying 9 days, you would be better off with the annual Parks Pass, which costs $60, plus the Cherry Creek "Water fee" of $3, for a total of $63. You can buy the passes online, or at the Park when you enter. The passes go onto the windshield of your tow vehicle.
Don't forget to bring your swimsuit. The swim beach is just across the road from the campground. You also have easy access to a paved hiking/bicycle trail that runs around the Park.

Good catch, hadn't done the math. I did know about the daily fee, not the "water" fee. We're hitting the road the 3rd for a long week in Idaho then on down to Colorado. I think we're going to bypass the bears this year. I'll just get the pass at the Park. That way I don't have to worry about the mail.
This will be the newbie trip with a brand new trailer. We've been looking forward to this inaugural first retirement trip for too many years. READ: NO MORE TENTS!!! Not that there's anything wrong with tents, we're just getting a little long in the tooth and the ground seems to be getting a lot harder. 3000 miles or so round-trip (plus any side trips SWMBO just has to have) is a fair kickoff.

The Parks pass is good at any State Park in Colorado for a full year after purchase, if you plan on any other stops in Colorado. There are some very nice parks in every part of the state. I can also recommend a few not-to-miss spots in Utah between Idaho and Colorado (unless, of course, you're traveling via Wyoming).
I remember tents, but I have been RVing for more than 18 years (still not retired), and haven't seen the inside of a tent (at least a camping tent) in all that time.
