Need some advise on which way to go as far as Mail Service.
With joining a mail service, does it change your permanent residence to the service? Such as Income tax, voting, vehicle registration etc.
If anyone is is using a forwarding service, can you tell us what that service offers.
Thank you for your time.

We use My RV Mail in Crestview, Florida. It is operated by Passport America. Their number is 800.844.3969 and they have rates as low as $9 a month plus postage. We changed our address with everyone to the address we have at My RV Mail. We can call or look online to see if we have mail and easily arrange to have it shipped to wherever we are whenever we want it. They will hold it for up to 6 months if need be.
Generally speaking, whatever state you have your driver's license in is considered you home state for tax purposes, etc. Most of the major mail services addresses are legal as a home address and even offer assistance in getting your license, tags, etc. On our site, we have a page describing our service them. You can see it at http://rvroadtrip.us/library/mail.asp, or you can go directly to any of the mail service web sites....

You can use the mail services and still keep your current state residence as long as you keep license, titles and voting in that state. We used Alternative Resources on Sioux Falls, SD for two years just for mail before actually going fulltime and then moved everything else to SD. If you do move to another state remember your wills and power of attorneys since they are based in your state of residence. SD takes about 2 hours to complete the move if you have everything in hand when you go.

I keep it simple and have a box at the UPS store. They'll forward my mail anywhere in the world. I can call them and they'll tell me if I have any mail and who it's from. They'll filter out junk mail. It's also not a P.O. Box, that's a good thing.

Ditto a UPS store - I am sure it depends on the owners but the one we use provides service that cannot be beat.

Living cheap in retirement is possible when you live in an RV. It is not a sacrificial lifestyle either.
If you like to travel, like to be exposed to different areas of the US, RV travel may be for you. If you dislike the same daily regimen, don't mind making new friends, RV travel may be your thing.
If you have never tried RVing I would suggest you talk to folks who have experience in the RV lifestyle. Visit campgrounds, become familiar with the various types of vehicles.
