Hi there everyone,
DW and I are completing a diet program that we have been in for the last 4 months. We've both lost over 50 pounds each. We've both found a new zest for life and will be both eating better once we are back to eating solid foods. Both of us work and need to be up, going and out of the rig by 6:30 AM. We have thought about doing breakfast sandwiches in the morning. My question is, has anyone used one of the 'Breakfast Sandwich makers' that they sell at CW and Amazon. You place your eggs in a little hoper and your meat in a seperate tray. You cook them using the microwave and toast your bagle or what ever in a conventional toaster. We are hoping to use egg beaters or something like that in place of regular eggs. Has anyone done this combination either?
We'd love the input if anyone has any. Thanks so much in advance for the assistance.

Congratulations on the weight loss.
Were you eating similar breakfast sandwiches while you lost the weight? I would be concerned about the amount of protein if you are eating eggs and meat. Plus most breakfast meat has quite a bit of salt in it.
I can understand that the convenience is quite attractive.
Hopefully someone else can give info on the sandwich maker. We have one at the sticks and bricks, that makes grilled sandwiches. We poach an egg and put it in with bread and cheese, no meat.

I make a breakfast sandwich quite often using Thomas Multigrain Light English Muffins, 1/4 cup Egg Beaters, and 1 Morningstar Farms sausage patty. I don't have a sandwich maker, but this goes together fairly quickly. I spray a skillet with cooking spray, pour in the Egg Beaters, cook them like an omelet, then drop the muffin in the toaster, and put the sausage in the microwave for a minute. All three are ready about the same time. I spread the muffin with a little sugar free jelly and then make the sandwich. On WW, this is 3 points. BTW, congratulations on the weight loss, that is quite an accomplishment.

We have one, but in only cooks the egg in the microwave. DS loves it! Works great. Just like McDonalds. We put in sliced turkey or any leftovers we have directly with the egg, close the lid and microwave for 1.50 mins. Toast the english muffin, add cheese and away you go.

We've been eating program milk shakes and meal bars much like 'Slim fast' for the last 4 months. In another couple weeks, we will start phasing solid food, Lettuce, meat, dairy and grains back into our diet. Right now we are at 6 replacement meals (Shakes and bars) a day. It will take us 6 weeks to transision back onto 'Solid foods'.

have the one that does the egg only.. make sure you pop the yoke and mix it up... using beaters takes care of that... only takes 1 min in our microwave... we use the precooked bacon you can buy and you can mix pieces of it right in with the egg and still done in 1 min...

Yes, I have one of those. I use regular eggs, and they occasionally explode if I microwave longer than 18 seconds at a time, even if I pierce the yolk.
I usually use regular lean sandwich ham and whole wheat Thomas English Muffins. They come out great!

if you scramble the eggs before putting them in the microwave they won't explode up to a minute (enough to cook them)

I sometimes make a quick breakfast sandwitch. We have a toaster oven so it is very easy. I usually cut a slice of whole grain bread in half, top with a thin slice of cheese and a few pre-made bacon bits from costco or 1/2 slice of lunch ham. That goes in the toaster oven. Then a 1/4 cup of egg substitute in a large mug sprayed with cooking spray in the microwave for 45-50 seconds (the large mug makes the egg wider and flatter which fits the bread better) Whole thing prep to finish takes about 5 minutes. It is about 200 calories and a balance of protien and carbs. I am amazed how the fast food places can take something so simple and turn it into a heart attack on bread
