Sorry to hear of your problems.

I bought a new Blue Ox Aladdin in 2010. Here's what the pins look like

Which pins are these? The good or bad ones?

I use locking pins for that connection.

Some things done for convenience or ease of use become simply too easy to be safe.

But they still require maintenance and replacement. And you want to make sure you close the the right direction. I replace mine every year. Cheap investment. Pick up at any farm supply store.
