I changed over my analog thermostat to a Honeywell digital. What I discovered is that the thermostat being situated on the wall next to the refrigerator, that when the Fantastic Fan was turned on it actually pulled the air from around the fridge through the thermostat. In fact, the fridge itself when the fan in the back is running will push warm air through the thermostat.
So today I actually pulled the thermostat and added some foam insulation behind the thermostat to see if that will reduce the air flow from the back of the fridge problem.

I have noticed the same thing since installing my Hunter thermostat in the summer of 2008. I suspected the hot air was coming from the refrigerator. Shows how powerful the Fantastic Fan pull is. Let us know if the insulation works.

So we were out again this weekend for 4 days and I was pleased to see that the foam insulation that I jammed in behind the thermostat did the trick. The thermostat was no longer affect by the heat behind the wall either being push out by the fridge or being pulled out by the Fantastic fan. Modification successful.
