Anyone have any information or suggestions for making this Grand Circle Tour including Zion-Bryce Canyon-Canyonlands-Monument Valley-Anasazi Ruins-etc.?

When is the best time to go? Best RV camping spots?

This will be our big vacation this year.

Thank you in advance.

IMO Sept is the best time. Weather is nice, everything still open, rug rats in school.

Sept/Oct and April are best, keeping in mind that Bryce can get snow and cold in Nov or before April. Great tour! Enjoy!!

We traveled around labor day weekend. Absolutely loved the national parks. Camped in Moab and Cannonville and traveled around in our toad. We love the southwest. Have a great trip.

Late September through October is the best time, keeping in mind that Bryce could be a bit chilly by then.

Camping inside the parks at one of the NPS campgrounds is always the best choice in my opinion.

Here is a link to the Grand Circle Travel Planner. You can order a copy or download it. This website has links to several of the popular areas in Southern Utah.

Some of the lesser known areas to checkout are: Cedar Breaks National Monument, Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park, Fremont Indian State Park, Kodachrome Basin State Park, Escalante Petrified Forest State Park, Anasazi State Park, Goblin Valley State Park, and Dinosaur National Monument. Make sure you drive the UT-12 Scenic Byway and if you want to go off road checkout Hell's Backbone and the Burr Trail. Also drive UT-128 (River Road) out of Moab. If you go to Monument Valley, try to stop at Canyon de Chelly National Monument.

I'm sure I left out a lot. Do some searches of the posts about Bryce, Zion and Capitol Reef National Parks.

There is so much to see, you will likely not see it all.

Hope you have a great trip!

Safe travels!

I think late September to mid-October. By that time of year, traffic in the parks whittles down to us old folks and a few thousand RV tourists from Europe. The weather in the high desert is much more pleasant then, compared to the heat of summer. Although, I've been out there in October some years still facing 100 F or higher.

Late Fall and Early Winter have always treated us well -- if you are hardy you may try the winter and be fortunate enough to see some snow. When you get the Red Rocks wet they look even more beautiful -- when you contrast them with the white snow, it is hard to image anything more stunning.

Just remember that the elevation is the key to the weather. Bryce might get some snow before the rest.

North Rim will close earlier if you were trying to go there, but even when it is closed you can visit if the snow has not covered the roads. (We have visited NR in December and loved it)

If you bring all the RV's in your signature you might not all get the good spots.(LOL)
