What is the difference between green, yellow and red, besides the price? I really like the green ones.

Thanks......DJ

The color....

I just had to do that. Having grown peppers of several colors, I can detect suttle difference in taste. The green pepper will turn red when mature and have some difference in taste.

no difference in taste.
but
someone told me awhile back that bell peppers (any color) are sweeter when they just have three points on the bottom instead of 4.
and I am finding that to be mostly true.

Good topic. I just picked 30 bell (green) peppers out of my garden and could have easily picked 30 more.
DW is freezing them right now.

Actually, there is a difference in taste. Although all bell peppers start out as green peppers, they taste different as they get older and change color.

I grow about 10 varieties & find the orange are the best tasting (my favorite is Valencia), but even the red taste different (generally sweeter) than they do when they were green.

Hi!

How nice it is for those of you with gardens and fresh peppers.

I am a vegan, so maybe I'm just more in tune with vegetable flavors, but I can tell you what color a pepper is by the taste. Orange and yellow are the same, but red and green are very different to me.

Happy camping,
elizabeth

There are few things I won't eat but bell peppers are near the top of the list. Yuck.

Nothing like a roasted red pepper, sweet as candy.
