Just purchased a 2008 Sport Trac Limited with a V-8, and Ford has "discontinued" the Neutral Tow Kit. Apparently the company who makes these wiring harnesses has gone out of business, and Ford has no stock.

Anyone out there have a wiring diagram and operating instructions for Part # 6L2Z-7H332-A ??? I am capable of making my own if I can find the right diagrams... Anyone actually have one they would be willing to sell me???

Anyone with one of these kits, can you answer a question? Can the vehicle computer be re-programmed for towing WITHOUT the Neutral Tow Kit wiring harness installed? I'd be willing to chance it for awhile until Ford gets their collective heads out and finds a new vendor...

I just looked at the Ford installation instructions.

The wiring kit is just an LED that plugs into an existing connector. There are some wires you have to jump across in the center console.

Your PCM needs to be reflashed to enable the towing feature. This can be done without the "kit" installed.

You will need the LED installed to let you know the towing feature is activated.
Transfer case damage will occure if not placed into towing mode.

I am trying to get the Ford dealer to do this for me as well and they are not sure what to do. Do you have any suggestions as how to tell them what is needed since I can't find the part that I need anymore for the light. Any help would be appreciated.

With the assistance of a Really Great Guy in Texas, I now have a wiring diagram and enough information to make my own Neutral Tow Kit. The price? Under $12.

Thanks Home Skillit!!!! You are a rock star!!!!!

Would you be willing to share the wiring diagram?

I too have just found myself in the same condition with a 2004 sport trac I just purchased. The Ford dealers I have contacted have never done this type service and don't have any knowledge of what to do. Is there anybody out there who could help me with any information I could relay to a dealer? If re-programming the computer will get the job done, then I would be willing to have that done as long as I had an operation guide to go by. Thanks

I also have a 2008 Sport Trac Limited with a V8 and 6 speed automatic transmission and 4 wheel drive. I just found out I can't find a dealer who has ever installed one of the neutral tow kits and apparently the kit is no longer available. How can I get my hands on a diagram or data on the details of this kit? If anyone can help I would be very greatful.

Maybe the reason there is no stock on the switch, is what I was told by a Ford dealer. The Sport Trac is to be discontinued to make room for a new pickup be called the new F-100 at the end of the year.
