My spouse and I currently have GT Palomar mountain bikes. My previous bike was a Trek, and I will likely go back to Trek with my next one. My kids have inexpensive Huffy bikes from Wal-Mart, because they only last 1-2 years before they outgrow them.
I carry the mountain bikes in the pickup bed with a pair of Hollywood Fork Mount Bike Carriers mounted to a 2x6 that lays across the truck bed just behind the cab.

When we had a TT, we carried four bikes inside it. They were the last thing in and the first thing out when traveling. Then when we got our first MH in 1985, I had a custom rack made that held four bikes and slid into recievers mounted to the frame of the MH. In 1993 we started towing a small pickup and were only taking two bikes (empty nesters). That's when I started using a pair of fork mount bike carriers mounted on a 2x6 that lays on the floor of the pickup bed.
