Thinking of changing our plans and going north instead of south and we havent really explored Maine. We like full hook ups when over the road any recommendations would be much appreciated. We have heard great things about Bar Harbor and Acadia Park.
Thanks!

There is a great KOA there which you will like. I have not gone more north than that. We are going to lake winnipesaukee over the 4th of July. Most places are all ready booked so make sure you can find a place to stay.

Don't blame you... It's HOT down here. Like most NPs, Acadia doesn't have hook-ups. there is a nice KOA next to the park. Drive up US 1 from Brunswick to Bar Harbor.. beautiful drive... stop at some of the seaside towns... love Camden..
If you elect KOA, there are two... read reviews at rvparksreview.com... KOA Ocenaside gets good reviews... KOA woodlands does not.

We'll third the KOA in Bar Harbor. It's just over the bridge. We had a site right next to the water, which was only electric and water. If you need a sewer hookup you'll be back a couple hundred feet. They do have a dump station.

Get ready for the trip of your life!! The DW and I went for 2 weeks+ this past fall. We stayed for a week in Wells Beach and then moved on to Narrows Too in Bar Harbor. Narrows Too was the only camp ground that we found where we could be on the water with full hook ups. We went to Acadia one morning and watched the sun rise. Let me tell you, it is something to behold. Everyone should go if they are in the area. If you have any questions please let me know.

Bar Harbour campground was our favouite. Closest to town. No reservations accepted and cash only. Lots of variety in type of sites.

We are in Maine right now, and we spent the last two days exploring Acadia NP. It is really beautiful! We actually stayed in a campground near Bangor. I don't know if you're a Stephen King fan, but he lives in Bangor and you can see his house. Also, in Bangor is Fort Knox (which is really cool, bring a flashlight) and Penobscot Narrows Bridge which boasts a 420' high observation tower.
We are at Pumpkin Patch RV park in Hermon, which gets great reviews on rvparkreviews. It is a long drive to Acadia, but the rv park is great and the price is great. We chose not to stay near Bar Harbor due to the extensive road construction on the way there. The road is completely scraped down and though others do it, I would not want to drive my rv over that road. It is like a 4x4 road!
