This is the place to report first hand observations and/or ask questions concerning the affects of the oil spill on RV Parks, State/National Parks, Attractions and Activities in the area.

This information will assist members who plan to vacation in the affected areas.

This IS NOT the place for discussions (political or otherwise) regarding the spill itself.

Also, there are other more appropriate places on the forum for fuel price discussions.

Thanks for your cooperation,

Sandi (Moderator)

Recent report has Port Aransas as no oil. If the currents behave normally all of far south Texas should avoid the spill.

They are preparing here in the Destin area. They are dropping off
large rolls of hay on the beaches and cement barriers..

We are at Grayton Beach (FL) and there is nothing here. But, we have seen several men surveying the beach and preparing to install some kind of barrier for the dune lakes.

BP reports the first attempt at capping the well with the big box failed today. It's reported that they will try again.
