While I am married I RV alone for the past 10 years. This years' trip I discovered I feel like you do. I'm tired of not having a 'human' to say 'Oh look at that'. But I just want my DH to come with me. We will seeeeee!!!
I meet a lady and a guy that RV'ed together. So neat. They both had their own motorhome but, kind of, caravaned. So nice because at a distination they would explore. He helped with her maintance things and bah bah bah. If one needed to be at a kids house or family thing, well that person just left and they would meet up later at whatever place. They have had this arrangements for years. My space your space, kind of like Dirty Dancing.

Janice...you know you are welcome at our campfire any time......
BTW...if I lost Terry....god forbid, I would be on the road in a heartbeat. We have workcamped with several very capable single women, including you, and they are an inspiration.
Hang in there, and if you are ever up this way, give me a hollar!

When I lost Jim, I tried to keep doing the thing that we loved - whitewater river running. My first trip after, the water was BIG, the weather beautiful, friends were wonderful and all the bugs went to visit Aunt June. (!!) But I was miserable ... his absence was palpable. I tried it a few times, and then put it away ... for now.
That is why I took up RVing ... it was a dream of MINE and there are no memories of him in my rig. We're all different, but based on my experience I cannot imagine losing an RVing life partner and being able to hit the road in silence with an empty chair.

After sharing all the good things in life with someone very special it sure leaves a hole in your life and heart when they are gone. But like most of you, I believe someday someone will come along and fill that hole and mend the heart.I just hope they love to live in a rv....Happy Trails...

I've been travelling alone for years. I got my first coach in my late 30s, and I still travel alone except for pets 20+ years later. Being that I'm still a bachelor after all these years on-the-road, I drive, shop, fuel-up, maintenance, cooking, cleaning, etc. It ain't all bad, it can be done alone.

i have traveled alone for five years i was married thirty years but i still feel young at 56, and found that rather than being taken advantage of (not looking to give someone a free ride and then not like them anyway) i found a wonderful partner who loves to camp and treats me with respect she has beautiful brown eyes and i could not ask for more she had some male friends i could help you get to know contact basset hound rescue of alabama, i am sure they can find you a good boy, i guess when it comes to humans i will probably find some one when i least expect it and the same will probably happen to you when you stop looking that is usually when the right person comes along. at least i hope so that is what i am counting on

I know how much company a pup is on the road. Last week I lost one of my sweet four-legged traveling companions. As my Bandit dog aged, he was having more and more trouble on the road. So now it's just me and Kiwi, the one-eyed Lhasa attack dog.
But you can't beat Bassets for the big eyes. LOL.
