Calvin is a great looking dog! I'm thrilled and hope the home visit goes great!
As for the shedding hair.......I keep looking for a tweed or houndstooth pattern in black, tan, white, and blonde colors! When I find it I'm going to reupholster every bit of furniture!

Thanks Dawn, now I know why this is the scary season for those living in CA and States like it. While driving to Lancaster, I know what my friend means when he says, that it so dry. It feels like if you light a match everything will ignite. Wishing you guys the best and a safe summer season!

Oh, no, Lance... you've misunderstood. It doesn't "feel like" it would all go up in flames. It WOULD all go up in flames, and frequently does!
Summer never used to be that way here. There were fires and they were put out quickly. These days, summer fires are apt to end up as huge as the wind-driven fall fires.

There was a fire in the mountains just east of us, a few weeks ago. I watched it burn for a couple of three or four of nights. The problem here is that there is so much fuel to feed the fire.
Much like the mountain ranges north of Phoenix, where I watched a whole side of a mountain burn for a week or so. I mean the fire was so large, I could see the flames and I was quite a distance from it. Luckily this fire was in an area that did not have homes.
Thoughs "Hotshot" crews are a fearless bunch of people, thats for sure!!

When I told Ellen what I fed Harlee and the snacks I have for her. She gave me a double take an smiled. I told her that Harlee's goig to learn to eat her beef sticks faster now if Calvin joins us.
At the moment she chews on it at random, which is great for my pocket book since the stuff is pretty expensive. Baby, use to go through it in 10/15 minutes.
Anyway, they're worth it!

If your ever in North Dallas. Stop by the furniture store "Gabbert's". They have a section that has samples of every fabric imaginable. I use to love walking in this store. You can't see every thing they have in one day, no way.
This is one of the most beautifut home furnishing stores I have seen or been in.

Lance - regarding dog hair: I have noticed Polar-Fleece's ability to grab dog hair and hold on tight - usually because my toddler grandkids will look like a lint roller after playing with my Cattle Dog :-(
So when we bought our MH, I went to the fabric store and bought umpteen yards of fleece in a nice color and pattern...and use it as throws over the furniture. When it gets too full of dog hair, I simply wash and dry it - and it looks pretty good again.
Just don't forget to pull the football-sized wad of doghair from the dryer filter!
Granted - Polar Fleece by the yard might be tough to find in Arizona in the summer......

Since we have drifted from the topic of this thread while we are waiting for Pops and Harlee’s Tuesday‘s Home Visit, I do have a comment. Not only do we have to pull the hair out of the dryer filter, how about the air conditioner filter and the ceiling fan vents! You can just imagine the amount of dog hair two long haired Cocker Spaniels can produce! We were pretty good to go with our buff cockers, but our new Chloie is a Tri Color Cocker. Black, white and tan! Her hair shows on everything!
I just recently discovered that a queen size fitted bottom sheet fits perfectly on our R.V. sofa. After all the sofa makes into a queen size bed.
About fires here in California. We live on a steep hill and have a one third acre parcel of land. Every year Kevin has to weed eat the entire hill (the City only requires a 10 foot area) several times each season. We did have a lot of firewood stored close to the house. Upon better thought , we moved the firewood to another location away from the house.
