"The Labor Department said that average weekly earnings, after adjusting for inflation, fell by 3.1 percent in July compared to a year ago, the biggest year-over-year decline since November 1990."
"The third straight month of oversized inflation increases following jumps of 0.6 percent in May and 1.1 percent in June. And it leaves inflation rising by 5.6 percent over the past year, the biggest 12-month gain since January 1991."

The news likes to make it sound sensational.. The worse it is the better for them
So yes, we have been her and done that already
The inflation rate for last month was like 0.8% (times 12 that's what 9.6% for a year) that's bad, very bad, I can remember when it was in the teens however, and not, all that long ago

I saw a post the other day from LA that said that gas prices are not as bad as everyone thinks.
But I think the writer lives in a dream world.
It's not just the price of gas, it's all that's related to energy.

Aw yes, I can remember the 70s well. I knew a guy that bought a new home and closed at some 12%. He refinanced as soon as he could too.

The dollar surged to a two-year high against the pound yesterday, and the price of crude oil dropped to a three month low of $113 a barrel.
While hardly earthshaking news, both are significant indicators of a positive nature concerning the U.S. economy.
