We full time in a 5th wheel and every time it rains we are getting out the ladder and broom to dump the water off the slide awnings. Is there a tool out there specifically for this??? The only "pro" here is that my biceps are huge from carring the ladder around!

Uh-h-h, my tool is the button inside the coach that says in/out. Does a great job of dumping the water almost instantly. And it adds a bit of fun to the day if you can do this DH is standing outside very close to the slide.

he he  ... I wish It was that simple for us... see we have so much******in/on them inside that we would have to move it all to get them in... I mean we really full time, on our property not in a park.

Saw it somewhere, using 3/4 PVC pip, make like a ridge pole that went down the center on top of the slide, held the awning up so it would pocket. A piece long enough held up on two tees and two tees on the bottom to act as legs. Bill

A guy parked near us is using what looks like a beach ball under the slide topper to keep the water from pooling.

ohhhh good ideas, like the beach ball, and I thought about building something myself with PVC Pipe, thanks everyone!

If you decide to go the "beach ball" route, get a tether ball instead. They are more durable and already have a rope attached that makes it easy to remove without climbing on a ladder or stool.

Can't imagine the consequences if you forgot to remove the ball!! I left a scrub brush on top of the slide after cleaning the awning. Those things make some interesting noises winding up inside

I'm with Joy. Just started our 11th yr of FTing and all we ever do is run the slide in to about 6" of being fully retracted. Then run it back out a couple of inches which pulls any remaining sag out and then run it totally in. If I had to hassle with putting something up there and take it back out each time we moved or hassle with climbing up there to broom stuff off, the toppers would be history. Running the slide in and dumping the water and crud off is how the toppers are designed to work.
