The MM act doesn't apply to programmers. The MM act allows you to use a fram oil filter,or a an Autozone alternator on your vehicle.
It prevents the manufacturer from requiring you to use their products on replacement parts.
Sort of. It does do what your saying, but more specifically it says they can't kill the warranty as a whole. Here:
Full Warranty Requirements Under a full warranty, in the case of a defect, malfunction, or failure to conform with the written warranty, the warrantor:
- must, as a minimum, remedy the consumer product within a reasonable time and without charge;
- may not impose any limitation on the duration of any implied warranty on the product;
- may not exclude or limit consequential damages for a breach of any written or implied warranty on the product, unless the exclusion or limitation conspicuously appears on the face of the warranty; and
if the product, or a component part, contains a defect or malfunction, must permit the consumer to elect either a refund or replacement without charge, after a reasonable number of repair attempts.

How right you are. I ruined 2 transmission in my 2005 truck in about 50,000 miles. FInally had to replace the Allison with a $7000 suncoast tranny. Stock auto transmissions are so weak.
My supposedly "weak" 47RE has been flawless. Experiences vary I guess. How much power did you add bendmore?

He didn't. He just took offense to my posting fact about the 47RE. I guess he couldn't afford a GM.

Smarty or Smarty Jr is the only programmer that is untraceable. This is fact. Madselectronics has done their homework and has left all the other programmer/box manufacturers scratching their heads on how they did it.
The Magnuson Moss Act isn't worth anymore than the 32 year old paper it is written on. If you do throw this in a dealers face and they still deny you, then you get to get lawyers involved and you could end up paying dbl or triple in the long run.

I added a EDGE (60 hp towing box in '01) on my previous '01 235/460 2500 Dodge/Cummins. Performance was day and nite difference as it really woke the Cummins up. No mpg improvement while towing a 11200 GVWR 5er or any tranny problems in the 90+k miles I had the truck. It gained about 1.5 mpg average highway mpg when empty. For newer gen Cummins and the latest boxes I would recommend the all Dodge/Cummins owners site as it eliminates non owner guessing/comments we see so much on this web. See dieseltruckresource.com or turbodieselregister.com for lots of good info.

Bully Dog's PMT is a great product. I seriously doubt they're scratching there heads over the Smarty. They're just a different animal and a different target group. The fact that Smarty is untraceable really only comes into play over screwing the manufacturer for repairs they shouldn't have to make because you modified the ECM. Shame on those that are doing it. Step up and pay to play like the big boys.

Turd Herder,
I think you might be mixed up.
bendmore was agreeing with you about weak transmissions, but his weak transmission was an Allison in a GM. Plus his Duramax ended up with engine problems. That is the reason that he can't afford a GM. It was such a piece of junk that he never even got to pull a heavy load with it.
He also has a Dodge with 800,000 miles on it that he uses for his heavy pulling.

Don't blame me because you can't afford a duramax. How is that my fault? Pay now and get a duramax or pay later and buy a dodge + endless repairs. Even Daimler Benz figured out Chrysler is a dead end product and got rid of them. They were smart but you?
