RE: low points and drains

Not sure why caps would ever get lost as they should never be left off of the RV. Open them and drain water lines then put them back on immediately. There are many models that have valves on the low point drains (including my Rockwood) but with a valve they usually are operated from inside the RV not under it. Point being that there would be more to it than just hanging a valve on the end.
Good luck / Skip
Why would it be more than just hanging a valve from the end of the line and not all low point drain valve are located inside the trailer on my 2008 jayco the low point drain valves are located under the trailer at the end of the lines along with the drain for the fresh water tank

RE: Rules for Dry Camping - revisited

OK Folks, it looks like some of you need reminding...
S P R E A D O U T !!
When there are well over 100 other places to park in a lot, BLM, or wherever, don't park right next to me.
1) You are blocking the nice cross breeze I had.
2) I don't want to look out my window as see the broad side of your coach
3) I don't want to breath in your genset fumes.
4) I don't want to hear your dogs/kids/you.
5) Your open/closing(slamming) of doors rattle my walls.
6) You don't HAVE to line up the RVs all in a row.
7) Where's the common sense/common courtesy/common descency.
8) You bought the RV for the freedom and independence, but still have the sheep mentality.
Its happened 3 times already in 2 weeks. I move and I'm victimized again. I sit outside everyday enjoying the nice 95 deg weather, and sure enough, I return from shopping and an RVer parked right next to me WITH SLIDE OUTS. If I wanted to sit outside it would have to be underneath their slideout. My door nearly hit the slideout.
Really people, are you THAT unaware. Is it Canadien Law to crowd other people? Out here in the Southwest, we enjoy our open space...RESPECT THAT.
Be considerate and courteous...its simple rules to live by.
Somebody has the panties in a knot

RE: mount brake controller inside trailer

and how would you run all the wires to the controller (ie the power wire the brake switch wire and so on all these wires need to come from the tv and how on earth would you use the manual slide switch on the controller if you needed to apply just the trailer brakes. a very bad idea in my opinion

RE: A valid reason for unhooking from TV upon arrival at camp

unhook the trailer and be ready for the what if's as far as getting her hooked back up would not be a problem at most camp grounds all she would have to do is ask someone to help you/her hook up so she could get the trailer home i bet a dollar to a donut that she would have more help than she would want but it would be a really good idea to show her how to do it and make it as easy as you can by getting an electric tonuge jack and showing her how to hook up.
and again sorry to hear she got hurt but hope she is feeling much better

RE: Water Tank Question

more than likely the check valve that is in the line behind the city water hook up is bad and allowing the water go to the tank or maybe the check valve that is in the water pump is bad and allowing to back feed to the tank.

RE: New water pump puts out too much flow for sink.

why not just get a pressure regulator and put it in the line after the pump and before the faucet and then adjust it down to what ever pressure you want.

anything less than 1" will bend in the middle then you will really have a headache tring to get the trailer uncoupled from the ball if he has made them before i would trust what he said and quit tring to second guess him.

RE: 2010 6.4 Oil Question

yes the oil will turn dark in a very short time or at least my dodge does and it is normal as far as the oil growing it should not be doing this if it is you most likely have a leak in the injectors somewhere and putting diesel into the oil which is bad i would have it checked. hope this helps

RE: DODGE DIESEL TRUCKS

The new dodge is a 6.7 liter not 6.0 and if you are looking at the ford 6.0 liter it is junk but the new ford 6.7 so far from what i have heard it is a good motor. my 2008 dodge 6.7 liter pulls my 14000 lb loaded jayco fifth wheel with no problems fuel milage is not the best but the power is there.

RE: Converting to a Gooseneck?????

it would be much easier to buy a 40' flatbed goose neck trailer and then take the axles off your tt and place it on top of the flatbed and weld it to the frame along with some orher kind of hold down system. there are like 5 of them around here where i live they use them in the oil field for portable offices and sleeping quarters.
