RE: RV industry (still) not catching up on quality issues

Rust?? Alot of Rv manufacturers have the chassis sitting outside in the weather, some for a year or longer before they are built on.

RE: How long for poop to break down?

I thought that the chemicals you put in broke down the poop into a liquid.
cm11...just ignore the fools.
Some use chemicals, some don't. But..it's the water that breaks down the solids. The chemicals are used to control odor. I have found that if I use chemicals it control odors for a week, then one must dump. Using no chemicals, you are good for 7 days, then must dump. This is traveling all the time. If you are parked somewhere, you don't need to dump till the tank is full. No smells if you are stationary, unless you are in warm temps, then all bets are off.
If you have other questions, and you get tired of the smart mouths, PM me.

I was going to offer a detailed analysis based on diet.....but I better pass on this one.:B Dont want the you know what, hitting the fan....Happy camping.

RE: What would you do?

They probably checked out your profile picture and gave up trying to figure out what year it was.....with all the snow on it. Nice looking rig = no problems. Now someone like me on the other hand.http://i47.tinypic.com/qp30ya.jpg height=400:B

RE: Marine-type tank on Class A?

If its an older MH with a mechanical fuel pump and carbureted motor, it could be done. Dont know how you would do it with an EFI rig, with an in tank, high pressure fuel pump.
In-line universal electric fuel pumps are readily available for EFI engines. I have a 45 PSI 40 GPH pump from NAPA installed on my '95 F53 chassis to circumvent the failed Ford in-tank pump. A switch could be used to disable the stock pump.
But dont you have a return fuel line back to the tank? OP wanted to use a portable tank.

RE: Unhook or not

We used to do it all the time on one nighter trips. Not a problem if the site is level enough. We used to disconnect the trailer wire connecter though, force of habit. Its ok to lube the ball and tongue.

RE: Ducted a/c, turn on and styrofoam comes out. ANTS GONE!!

When we first purchased our Class A (used) We had some white stuff I will call styrofoam blow out, when I had closed the vents and directed the full flow to the rear bedroom. It only did it the one time. We do have poor air flow out of the ducts in front, but have not bothered checking into it since we installed the Chill Grill.

RE: ADVICE FOR A NEWBY

Our Orbit HTT leaked when we first got it, the day we brought it home on a rainy day. The bunk end doors were leaking. We dried it up immediately and took it back to the dealer the next day. Unfortunately, if your cabinets got wet, they will show damage a month or 2 down the road. The cabinets in our Orbit were press board with the contact paper and solid wood doors. The press board sucked up the water and eventually swelled up and the contact paper peeled off along the floor. It took us almost a year to get ours straightened out and had to have the cabinets replaced, the front bed end replaced and the flexsteel sofa replaced. We traded before the warranty ran out. The factory, not the dealer was fantastic about getting it back in order, but we lost 8 months of camping. Wishing your new RV a speedy recovery.

RE: Rehobeth Beach, De to Myrtle Beach, Sc

Get on Rt 113 S to Rt 13 S, cross the CBBT, continue to Rt13 S to Rt 64 E (Hampton Roads Beltway) Continue on the beltway past Chesapeake exits where you can pick up Rt 58 West. You do not have to go thru any other tunnel this way. Continue taking 58 to Emporia and pick up Rt 95 South... You can also take 17 south which is a stress free, slower pace ride, but check on road construction. We are from the Rehoboth/ Dewey area and found this route to be the easiest for us.

RE: Anyone ever use the oven?

Every Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years for the last 6 years. I sprained my ankle trying to get a 12 lb turkey in there. :) Had to settle for a 6 pounder and small ham, biscuits, baked macaroni and cheese, exercised the AC it was so hot in there. Man, I am hungry now.
Most of the rest of the time, its bread storage.

RE: Unacceptable Service

Finance dept. Did you still have a loan on it? If so, the balance of the loan will have to be paid, then the dealer should reimburse the pro rated amount.
