RE: What does "Dealer Stock Only" mean?

If you are looking at Manufacturers site... it means only what a dealer has.. manufacturer isn't making any more of that floor plan.. but if you really like it, you may can find a dealer with it, who is willing to work with you. When I bought my current TT, it was on Jayco site that way.. and I think the one I bought was the only one within 1000 miles.. that did limit my negotiating some.. I knew I couldn't say (without lying anyway) that I could get it cheaper elsewhere if I would drive a few miles.

RE: Combo Washer/Dryer in a short and lightweight TT

Please do keep coming back to the forum to let us know what you do. In a few years, I hope to be fulltiming and really would prefer a TT but really "need" a washer/dryer combo of some type. I keep looking at floor plans and trying to guess what could be changed to allow the combo or stackable units.

RE: Pool lifts for Mobility challenged

All the pools in GA state parks were closed a couple of years ago, when the regulation that the drain had to be changed went into effect. State closed the pools rather than spend the huge amount that it would have cost. I can see other places fighting the issue with the permanent lift.. My DS works as aquatics staff at local boy scout cammp, when they required the new type drain, the council had to struggle to come up with the money. the camp had a lift donated by local hospital and therapists, with lots of encouragement from several adults with mobility challenged boys,, my son says the thing is really scary if everyone isn't trained in how to use it.. he is afraid of dropping someone.

RE: 2012 Jayco Eagle SL 314 bds

I have a Jayco Jay flight and have been happy with it.. My floorplan wouldn't work for you, but I can say I have not had any quality issues.. other than I hate the location of the TP holder and intend to move it.. not sure if that was Jayco or the dealer.. I think your customer service is going to depend on your dealer.. I have a good one.. part of the reason I bought what I did is because he had done service for me for several years on my old TT.. and he has said he sells Jayco because of the quality.. My only concern with that floor plan is if you will really use outside kitchen enough to offset the loss of storage, since you will need to store stuff for 4 boys.. and boots and bike helmets, and toy trucks take lots of room

RE: New sink for my TT

go to a kitchen/bathroom cabinet supplier. My parents had one made for bathroom that was odd sized.. I would guess a cabinet supplier could order in whatever size you needed... lowes or home depot probably could too, if you can find an emaployee who knows anything about custom ordering

RE: Laundry Day!

the exact reason my full time rig will have washer and dryer.. have seen what is put in washers and dryers at one of my favorite state parks.. it is on river and is a big fishing spot... during rainy winter, always see folks putting stuff directly in dryer without washing first.. quite scary to think I might go after those fishy/sandy/muddy things that needed drying.

RE: Fuel Price Gouging

you should have filled up in GA.. usually a significant difference between Ga and FL side of Hwy 19.. as you got near Perry, etc, you were getting into more touristy areas -- remember there are a lot of us from GA and elsewhere that head to Perry area (Steinehatchee, Keaton Beach, etc) to fish. that is a desstination area... I know, it's not like Tampa, but it is a destination to many

RE: Photos of my new Jayflight Travel Trailer...

I have the Jayflight that has the brown and burgundy color scheme, but I am definitely going to add more color.. I have added some burgundy (like changing from blah beige/taupe bedspread to burgundy) but am definitely going to have to add more... How did you hang your pictures? I am afraid of them coming down, or rubbing the wall too much if they swing.. I am off to Target now... to look for ideas.. I have a key holder over my main door, that I keep my keys on, may have to another for broom/etc storage.

RE: A Question about Keys & Locks on TT's

My Jayco came with differently keyed front and rear doors.. and I find it frustrating... painted the main door keys with sharpie.. so I can tell which is which quickly.. guess I will need to breakdown and get locksmith to change one out for me.

RE: Covering your Power Tongue Jack

I am not near my TT so I can't get you a picture, but it is pretty simple. I used two hooks that attached with bolts and nuts inside the bucket. put the hook toward the opening, so when bucket is upside down over hitch chains and brakeaway cable will hook on them. some people used a single clip type broom holder for their power cord, but I didn't find one the day I bought my hooks, so I just hook the power cord on one of the hooks too. It took me about 15 minutes to put the whole thing together. Oh yeah, you may want to choose your bucket... so that the logo is one you want to show off to everyone.

RE: Jayco Jay Flight water tanks

How do you know it has 2 fresh water tanks? Is there anything I need to know to use them differently? My 24RKS has a 92 gal Fresh water tank. I have never used it, since I have stayed where I had city water each time I have used it so far. My dealer didn't realize it was that big until I asked him during the purchase process, so he probably doesn't know if it has 1 or 2 tanks.

RE: New Camper, Newer Campers...maiden voyage not bad

get a set of those backup balls.. or whatever they are called.. they are great for hooking up....You can find them in WalMart and many autoparts stores too, I raise the trailer so the tongue is a good 2-3 inches higher.. when I have the two poles aligned and the balls touching.. I get out and look exactly how much in which direction I need to back.. sometimes I get it perfect then, and sometimes I have to get out and look and then move a little more... and I do it by myself.. grease the ball, it will help... last time I went to hook up, the hitch would NOT sit down on ball all the way, and I used PAM.. it was all I had at the time, and it worked.. now I have to clean sand off the ball before I use it again.. Unhitching... chock the wheels, take the sway and Weight distribution bars off (you do use the power jack to p/u trailer and take weight/pressure off the bars don't u?), then lift the tongue until it comes off the ball.. If the truck starts rising over its normal height, I will bounce on the bumper so it will go ahead and turn loose. You guys can do it. It just takes practice... Last fall this Middle aged female traveling by herself sure impressed a couple of older men, when I pulled in with my TT, disconnected, put stabilizers out and hooked everything up in less than 30 minutes.. If I can do it, I know you can..

RE: Keeping stuff in place

Only cabinet that I have problems with stuff moving, is the one in the slide over sofa, and I usually have very little in it... and my plastic cups turn over and then roll around.. Maybe I will go get somewater wings to fill it up the cabinet from the dollar store.

RE: Okefenokee Swamp Park GA

Ray, thanks for the idea. I have been to the park, and really enjoyed the visit and the tour we made. I carried friends of my daughters who were from England and Sweden, made it lots of fun seeing the swamp through their eyes. One question, were you the only work campers or were there several? I would enjoy working there once I retire, but I travel alone, and am not sure about being there with no one else around.

RE: Did you settle or ?

PUP was a deal... my parents bought it for me to use and join them on trips.. BH was deal and what I wanted... it was very slightly used.. Tent was deal (all I could afford at the time) Next TT was DEAL, bought from parents when they went back to MH, Current TT was I wanted (except upholstery -- I didn't particularly care for fake suede), Next RV, I hope is deal and what I want.. next (in about 5 years) will be my FT home.

RE: Warning, Discounts *already* included in CW web prices!

I had been looking at the prices after someone else posted here about the same thing. I am not sure that offering everyone who orders on the internet the "discounted" price, and having a different price in the store is going to hold up. I can't imagine not having to show membership to get the discount... from either location... store or on-line.. I know that is not the way it is right now, but would like to see that addressed.. especially for someone like me who has to drive 100 miles to a CW and orders most everything on line.. Please tell me why I shouldn't just drop my membership and continue ordering at the "member discount" price via the internet.

RE: If you just need a few extra $$$

could you get with someone like office depot or staples and do tech work occassionally as stores in the area need you? or can you get set up to do in-home repair for one of the service companies? Like when I had in-home warranty on new PC and DVD drive bit the dust... someone called and did some trouble shooting via phone, and when they realized I was somewhat saavy, they then ordered new drive and only made one trip to house to install. Not sure how you would do that these days, but I am sure it still is done, becuase I see the Geek Squad ads (and others) all the time.

RE: Towing Borrowed (notrented) TT across the border

Instead of doing the buy/sell for minimal and getting into possible tax issues, could you do a rental agreement.. it would seem that would be a legally recognized way to "borrow" but be sure to check with your insurance and trailer owners insurance. Actually asking the insurance agent for suggestions might be a good way to start.
