RE: Black Water Tank Care

we sit for 3 months every winter. I highly recommend an enzyme solids eater called Pure Power. 13.99 for a half gallon. 2-3 oz in a freshly dumped tank, liberal water with each flush and upon emptying the tank, not a sign of anything solid.

RE: No water coming through the Hot Water Line

I had the exact same problem this spring. Bypass valve was open but no water through the hot water side of any faucet. Was the check valve, a $7 plastic part that will cause you heartburn on some coaches to replace. Mine also failed last year and took tech almost 2 hours to cut and replace monaco's crimped water connectors with household type that screw on and off. and this year i had them replace plastic junky valve with brass one.total labor -10 minutes. good luck.

RV renovator in So Cal

I have seen several posts touting the quality of an RV renovator in So Cal. Talking about carpeting to pergo, residential reefer over time bomb Norcold, etc. Can't find them here or google, etc.

RE: First trip - no hot water - please help!

if you put the bypass valve on normal and the tank fills and you still don't get water out of the fsaucets it is the check valve, a $7.00 plastic part that fails at an alarmingly high rate.

RE: New Allegro Breeze deal does not seem that great....

It would appear the purchasing of MHs has reverted to the old system which many of us used to upgrade our coaches. This, of course, was the ridiculous trade in value given to satisfy the payoff in exchange for paying at or close to MSRP. However, a friend of mine tried to play this game 18 months ago and was told the finance companies no longer looked the other way. he had to come up with a check for his upside balance on his trade. Has the policy changed or was it just the dealer my friend dealt with? As to this buyer, look over carefully any contract if you decide to buy. Obviously they will present you a contract with an OTD figure of 115117. They are charging you with a huge sales tax figure based on full MSRP. By juggling the sales price and your trade value, they can still come up with the same OTD price but pocket several hundred in "sales tax". If they do that, you know there's still room to negotiate.

RE: Costco Batteries?

one word of caution that I experienced with Interstate. Their so-called warranty has nothing to do with purchase date. It is the date of mnanufacture stamped on the battery. happened to me twice with my boat deep cycles.

capital reef to bryce

it would appear from maps and posts on this site that to drive from capital reef to bryce via Utah 12 w/ a 40 foot puisher towing is highly unadvisable. anyone use an alternate route, i.e back to utah 62 and down to bryce? or does one have to totally backtrack to/towards 89?

RE: RV Park to stay in Sparks NV i trust u more than reviews

street vibrations are the last weekend in sept. rib cook off is usually labor day weekend. The big daddy is hot Aug nights the week ending 8/14 this year. Look into Gold ranch west on I 80 at the CA border. 15 minutes from town but a world apart. Sparks marina nice and close and you can't get hay fever from the astro turf at the sites. plastic grass=camping?

RE: RV parks near DC

we stayed at cherry hill for 7 or 8 days a couple years back. I must be a very heavy sleeper for i never heard truck traffic. maybe it was our location in the park. what we did get for free at cherry hill was dozens of stink bugs infesting the coach and everyone around us too. these little critters are a gift that keeps giving. we had them in the coach for more than a year. they are so nasty the cats won't go after them.

RE: I knew tires were expensive but this is crazy

the old rivering goodyear stories. my fronts rivered three times and i ran out of places to rotate them to. since they were approaching 6 years I decided to replace them with real tires. I chose the Hankooks as tire dealer who also sells Goodyear and Michelin says he has had much better feedback from Hankook wners and less problems with them. He reported that virtually every M/H that comes in with Goodyears has rivering problems. The 6 275/70R22.5 Hankook A12s were $3329.00 out the door- taxes mounting balancing, disposal fees etc included.

RE: black tank odor question

bleach? sure. might get your smell out but will kill the campgrounds waste system if he is on septic.

RE: koa

the reason some campgrounds and most KOAs charge for extra people is because some of them drink water from their systems, they take up space in the motorhome that effects the cooling of the A/C thereby causing more usage of electricity and they weigh down the coach which wears out their parking spaces faster. It all adds up. A hotel has to provide extra linens for extra guests and that makes sense. As to me and KOA. never ever ever.

RE: Newbie question re full hookups

many many states/counties require a "sealed" connection. Not sure what is being described as a step down. One of the keys to black tank procedure is to use plenty of water each "solids" flush.
